About the Dream Weavers
It all started in the early 80's where the “Mondragon” family began to export to the southern United States handmade rugs, made with wool and designs from the town of Teotitlan del Valle in the state of Oaxaca.
Beautiful works of art were created and sold at that time to look like paintings woven on looms by great Zapotec weavers. In this way we created a strong connection and a noble, prosperous and successful business generating jobs for our people.
With the passage of time and the arrival of the internet, we investigated other types of wool and finer quality national and international raw materials. We also included cotton yarn. This opened the door to innovate and create new techniques with different handmade fabrics using the ancestral techniques of dyeing and weaving on looms. All this was possible thanks to the resistance and flexibility of the new yarns.
Thus was born “La Dormilona” we are a “Workshop” where we create unique pieces 100% handmade with (merino wool and cotton). All very fine, soft and resistant for your home or business, with exclusive designs, private collections and incredible color combinations.
